Henry Eliot and Matt Lloyd, the writers and urban cartographers behind the map series Curiocity, hosted an evening of storytelling and unusual London maps. Henry and Matt walked through some of the city’s most intriguing places and experiences, and described the process of producing and printing Curiocity.
Soho, November 2013
A candle-lit procession through Soho to celebrate William Blake’s birthday, including talks from Mark Mason (Move Along Please), Robert Kingham (The Thin Veil of London), John Rogers (This Other London) and Tim Heath (Chair of the Blake Society). It involved a druidic ritual, drinks at Waterstones Piccadilly and a film of Philip Pullman in Bunhill Fields Burial Ground. It was the launch of Curiocity Issues D and E.
Southwark to Bexleyheath, September 2013
A day-long pilgrimage through southeast London for 150 people, from The George Inn in Southwark to William Morris’s Red House in Bexleyheath, including contributions from storytellers, artists and live musicians. Created in collaboration with the National Trust. The route map is the centrefold of Curiocity E.

A speaker event, with a talk by Mark Mason (Walk the Lines) and a screening of the documentary Men of the City, followed by a Q&A with the director Marc Isaacs and several of the eponymous men. This was the launch of Curiocity Issue C.

A speaker event, with talks by Tom Jones (Tired of London, Tired of Life) and Tom Bolton (London’s Lost Rivers), followed by a screening of The London Perambulator, a film by John Rogers (This Other London) about Nick Papadimitriou (Scarp). This was the launch of Curiocity B.
